Ms. Roothaan has over 20 years of environmental experience in government, academe, and private industry. She has taught thousands of individuals throughout Texas and Mexico about pollution prevention and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) She was the lead architect of Texas' nationally-recognized “Clean Texas-Cleaner World” EMS program. She is published widely on many topics including environmental cost accounting, organizational culture change, and pollution prevention technologies. Ms. Roothaan is a certified ISO14001 Lead Auditor, holds a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. In addition, she is the recipient of numerous awards, including the White House Closing the Circle Award for Greening the Government.

Charlie Davis
President

Charlie Davis holds both Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Environmental Science. He has accumulated twenty-five years of work experience in the environmental management field. During the past thirteen years, he has focused on pollution prevention and resource efficiency projects. He helps companies to mainstream environmental considerations into core areas of business practices in order to improve the company's bottom line through means that also enhance environmental quality protection. In the past three years, Mr. Davis has transitioned into environmental management systems, either through auditing for conformance to ISO 14001 or through establishment of new systems. Mr. Davis is also a board member of "CEDEIP" - Computers and Electronics Disposition Eco-Industrial Park.

David Pimentel

Mr. Pimentel is an environmental professional with over 25 years experience, including almost 8 years as Director of the Environmental Office, Travis County, Texas (1988-1995). He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a Master's Degree in Geography/Environmental Studies. His main area of specialization has been watershed management of environmental programs in the public sector: city, county and state. He has managed over 40 projects and programs and has designed and implemented programs dealing with water quality monitoring, non-point source pollution, sustainable agriculture, endangered species protection, household hazardous waste collection, used oil recycling, and solid waste management. During that time, Mr. Pimentel has written 9 grants with funding near $2 million. He also designed and implemented the first environmental GIS for Travis County with over 100 layers of information.
In the 1990's, he was involved as consultant/volunteer for Partners of the Americas funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (AID) in the areas of sustainable agriculture, water resources, social welfare and environmental protection. He has provided project evaluation and feasibility assessments on projects in both Mexico and Peru. Mr. Pimentel has been principal investigator on the Texas Geographic Names Information System project for TNRIS (USGS funded) for four years. He is currently at TNRIS assisting the Governor's Office Division of Emergency Management on flood and hurricane planning using FEMA's HAZUS software. Mr. Pimentel has been active in 9 nonprofits, with an environmental/sustainable development orientation, in the course of his career.

Martha Arosemena

Martha Arosemena is currently a Colonia Planner for GrantWorks, Inc., a grant management and planning firm headquartered in Austin, Texas. She obtained a Master of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin's Community and Regional Planning Program in 2001 and is a member of the American Instituted of Certified Planners (AICP). Her coursework and research at UT focused on a variety of planning issues, including economic and community development, regional planning methods, and small town planning.
Prior to obtaining her Master's Degree, Ms. Arosemena was a Program Specialist with the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission's Office of Pollution Prevention and Recycling. While there, her duties included helping businesses to comply with the Waste Reduction Policy Act's reporting requirements and organizing National Pollution Prevention Week educational materials and activities.

Elizabeth Frisch
Development Director / Lead Trainer

Elizabeth Frisch is a Lead Trainer and Development Director for A Nurtured World. She is a chemical engineer with over fifteen years of EMS and EHS consulting experience in Region 6 and around the U.S. in more than fifty industries, governmental entities, and the U.S. military. She known for her work at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) on the Texas EMS program as well as developing the performance-based, culture-change approach to training for EMS implementation. This unique training approach focuses on 1) developing EMS that fit how an entity conducts business, 2) teaching personnel how to change organizational culture and engage management to support the EMS, and 3) identifying opportunities and measuring breakthrough performance of the EMS instead of adding additional bureaucracy.

Justin R. Murrill
Lead Trainer

Justin Murrill has been with A Nurtured World since 2003 and is a Lead Trainer and Project Manager. In addition to training hundreds of individuals on consumer conservation techniques, Mr. Murill works with organizations in the public, private, and non-profit sectors to increase operational efficiency and/or reduce environmental impacts. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and Ethics at St. Edwards University.
